An email will be sent to all unit committee chairs regarding specific functionality to their position.
We are scheduled to update our Point of Sale System this month to better serve our customers at the Scout Shop, Camp Trading Post, and at events.
One impact of this is each unit will have only one custodial account, instead of having one for awards and one for registration. With membership fees now able to be paid direct to national, some units use both accounts currently and some don’t. If you wish to keep money for registration separate, simply let our staff know (or include a note if mailing a check) to “freeze these funds for registration.” This will prevent these funds from being used for awards, camp, etc. Any funds you currently have in either account will be combined into the new account in coming weeks.
If you want to check your current balance in the old system or want to change who has access to your unit's account, contact Lisa directly at Lisa.Ciulla@scouting.org
If there are any other questions, please don't hesitate to contact Eric at eric.muench@scouting.org
Unit Deposit Account Access & Individual Logins to Black Pug related systems
If you do not currently utilize a "Log in" to campreservation.com or scoutingevent.com (Collectively Black Pug) now is the time to create one. Use this URL to create your personal login: https://scoutingevent.com/637/Login/
You may want to review this entire page before logging in to the system to create or access your account.
What is a Unit Deposit Account (UDA)?
In the past, a UDA account has been called a Scout Shop Account, a Troop Account, and by various other names.
Each unit will soon be able to access their unit's Unit Deposit Account within the Black Pug systems. This is the same system you use to register for camping and other events. A UDA will allow your unit to allocate funds to your camping and other unit-based paid activities easily. This provides another avenue for payments and is not required in any way to do what you have always done. However, this new process is linked to the Council Point of Sale system and will allow much more convenience for the units.
Who may access your UDA?
The Unit Controller is a term that the vendor uses to identify the person who controls (1) access to your online unit account and (2) the persons who can access the UDA. Each Unit Controller should review the persons listed in their account and update them for accuracy. Legacy users may still be permitted access to your accounts, so be sure to review their access. The unit upload process adds key 3 members but does not remove any user added manually.
If you need assistance determining who is your unit's Unit Controller, please contact Lisa Ciulla.
How may funds be used?
Funds, if any, from your legacy Scout Shop account as of March, 24 2025, will be converted to the UDA system. This function is moving to the web, please review the "Managing Trusted Users and Deposits" video below. The unit is charged with determining who has access (see the Unit Controller above).
In addition to registering and paying for camping and other events, your funds are available to be used at the Scout Shop located at the Chippewa Valley Council Service Center, just as you currently are able to.
